Water rises to its highest level this year in the Guilin section of Lijiang River in the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region on Monday, submerging statues on a pedestrian pathway along the river as a result of continuous rainfall. Rainfall in the past days in Guangxi, Yunnan and Guizhou has eased the prolonged drought in Southwest China. [Xinhua]
