Beijing Daxing International Airport has processed more than 2 million border crossings, hitting this milestone 40 days earlier than last year, officials said Thursday.
The number of foreign travelers entering and departing through the port of the airport has jumped 34.4% compared to the same period in 2024, with foreign nationals making up 26% of total border crossings.
Foreign arrivals at Daxing have reached 269,000 so far this year, a 58% increase from the same period last year, largely attributed to expanded visa-free policies, including both unilateral and reciprocal arrangements. Most international visitors are arriving from Russia, Malaysia and South Korea.
With the summer tourism peak approaching and international flights steadily increasing, the airport expects accelerated growth in passenger traffic across its borders.
To manage the anticipated surge while maintaining efficient operations, the airport plans to enhance passenger flow monitoring and early warning systems.
Authorities will also optimize their service model and refine customs clearance procedures. Special attention will be given to dedicated fast-track lanes for children, older travelers, and those with emergency needs.
Meanwhile, authorities are providing convenient measures, including 24/7 "one-stop" services for issuing and processing temporary entry permits, as well as direct transit exemptions from border inspection procedures.
