Japan captain Endo withdraws from World Cup due to injury

Japan captain Wataru Endo has pulled out of the World Cup due to his foot injury, according to the Japan Football Association.

The 33-year-old Liverpool midfielder had a left foot surgery in February and returned to action on May 31.

He had been training separately from his teammates since the team arrived in Nashville city.
