Yunnan to Protect Confluence of Three Rivers

Yunnan provincial government has issued a circular, setting demands for the protection of the confluence of the three rivers in the province that has been listed as a natural heritage of the world.

The strategic, environmental, economic and scientific value of the heritage is catching ever growing attention.

 

The circular demands that the resources be protected in accordance with the law and legal enforcement be implemented in every detail. The organs in charge of the protection of the area will be set up and studies to protect the area’s ecology will be carried out.

 

The province’s legislature will stipulate rules to protect the area and a provincial office in charge of the area’s protection will work out a general plan and plans to protect its eight separate districts and key spots.
