Shenzhen Rules on Wildlife Consumption
Adjust font size:

Shenzhen lawmakers Wednesday approved regulations prohibiting eating wildlife and suggested changes to the laws governing vehicle exhaust emissions.

The regulations concerning wildlife consumption complement Guangdong provincial regulations already in place. While the provincial regulations say nothing about how to deal with wildlife and their related products when law enforcers prosecute offenders, the city’s law stipulates that authorities confiscate wildlife and their related products.

The legislature approved a plan to deal with exhaust emissions put forward by the city government and suggested a number of other changes.

It suggested encouraging the public to inform the authorities about pollution emission and using higher criteria to control exhaust emissions.

The legislature will include law enactment on exhaust emission in its legislation plan for this year. It has asked the city government to draft the law as soon as possible and table it to the legislature this year.

The Standing Committee of the Third Shenzhen Municipal People’s Congress closed its 26th session Wednesday after voting on a series of laws and on appointments and removals of some city officials.
