Themed "Romantic Europe - From Chopin to Rachmaninoff", the First Beijing Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli International Piano Festival will be held at the National Grand Theater for the Performing Arts from Nov 19 to 29. It will bring together nine international piano maestros, such as Olga Kern, Aldo Ciccolini and Boris Berezovsky.

They will present five solo concerts in cooperation with the China Film Symphony Orchestra and the China Broadcasting Orchestra. Italian pianist Enrica Ciccarelli will perform the famous Chinese piano concerto Yellow River and also hold a six-day master class.

The festival is a response to the annual Benedetti Michelangeli International Piano Festival, the theme of which was "Oriental Charms: From Bach To China" this year. Chinese composer Tan Dun and pianist Lang Lang will perform at the opening concert.
