Ettore explains that translating the show into Chinese was a conscious decision to make sure that children could keep up with the complicated plot. "Because this is a family oriented production, if the kids don't follow what is going on, they get bored quickly."
As an artist, Ettore said that creating musicals for young audiences is always a challenging and fantastic experience.
"Performing for children gives you such strong energy and satisfaction as an artist because they are not as polite as the grownups. So if they don't like it, they will show it. They just look around and start talking. So you have to keep them engaged all the time. This is a challenge," he smiled.
After its Beijing premiere, Alice will set out on further China adventures, performing in major cities including Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Dalian in August and September.
