The hit 2010 action comedy "Let the Bullets Fly" stole the show at the 2011 China Film Directors' Guild Awards, held in Beijing on April 8, 2012. The film scooped three major awards out of a possible eight at the ceremony, making it the most successful film on the night.

The film, by renowned director Jiang Wen, won Director of the Year, Film of the Year and Actor of the Year.

As he accepted the award for Best Director, Jiang said: "I want to be a director to prove that I am a good actor as long as I work with a good director."

In fact, I haven't won as many awards as you might think. I took my previous awards with my hands, but I take this one in my heart."

He added: "Let the Bullets Fly' brings us a lot of honor. I would be happy to be here tonight, even if the film hadn't won any awards."

"Let the Bullets Fly" is a 2010 action comedy film written and directed by Jiang, based on a story by famous Sichuanese writer Ma Shitu.
