On October 22, He Jianming launched his new book "Our Country," published by China Writers Publishing House, at the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse in Beijing.

In early 2011, Libya witnessed the terror of continuous war, bloodshed and violence every minute of every day. At the time, over 30 thousand Chinese residing in Libya found themselves in constant danger. "Our Country" tells the tale of the Chinese nationals' evacuation out of war-torn Libya.

In order to ensure the safety of its overseas citizens, China dispatched a "Special Operations Division" in a joint action by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission and several other departments. Over the course of twelve long days, the Special Operations Division miraculously managed to evacuate 35,860 Chinese emigrants. This memorable event attracted worldwide attention.

As Chinese citizens are now trotting the globe, the nation's government now faces a new and daunting task -- How to protect the overseas Chinese nationals. The measures it took to evacuate its citizens from Libya in 2011, won the praise from both national as well as international corner, boosting China's sense of pride and honor.

During the book launch, notable attendees included Li Bing, Secretary of Party Committee of Chinese Writers Association; Zhang Zhijun, Deputy Foreign Minister; Song Tao, Deputy Foreign Minister; Tang Heng, director of the artistic literature department of the Propaganda Department of the CPC Central Committee; Huang Hong, director of Bayi Film Studio; and Zhang Hongsen, movie bureau deputy director of The State Administration of Radio, Film and Television (SARFT).
