E-mail By China.org.cn, April 11, 2013The Chinese version of the German celebrity diving format- "Stars in Danger-High Dive"-made its debut on April 7, 2013.
The live show, produced by Jiangsu TV, was shot at the National Aquatics Center, also known as the Water Cube, in Beijing.
It features a total of 32 renowned stars that are touted as brave souls to take to the high dive board after receiving intense training from China's elite professionals.
Renowned Hong Kong actress Cecilia Cheung and Li Xiaoshuang, the first Chinese Olympic gymnastics all-around champion, are also getting prepared for the competition.
It's understood that the production team found it difficult to assemble such a cast as many stars have undergone plastic surgeries and don't want to take part in the competition. The insurance expenditure for these 32 stars exceeds 100 million yuan (US$15.9 million).
