Two female body-paint models pose on the ground outside the Mogao Grottoes in Jiuquan City, in northwestern China’s Gansu Province. The models are volunteers for a campaign to protect the Mogao Grottoes. The campaign, which was initiated by the non-governmental organization Idea Beautify China, also aims to raise awareness about preserving historic and cultural heritage elsewhere.
