According to Tim Kobe, the market scale of China's design industry is huge. But China still lags behind the U.S. and Europe in terms of brand recognition. It's the next step for China to become the world's great creative economy after achieving a rapid economic growth rate. "Our experience design is from people's experience. That means we do things for people and think of people. So it's always good business to do things that people want and that matter to people." Kobe told China.org.cn. Kobe, a member of Art Center's Board of Trustees, designed the first Apple Store and collaborated with Steve Jobs to create the Apple retail experience.

De Liu, chief designer of MiPhone, recalling his studying time in Art Center, said that "Ten years ago, my professor told me one has to be a good entrepreneur and a strategist before becoming a good designer." He gave a lot of credit to Art Center's practical and creative teaching method.

Art Center College of Design, located in Pasadena, California, United States, is one of the top design colleges in the world. Founded in 1930, its Industrial Design and Automotive Design programs are ranked number one in the United States.

After Beijing, the design forum will head to other major cities in China, including Shanghai, Hangzhou and Shenzhen.
