A Cantonese Opera gala based on China's war against Japanese invasion has been staged in Macao.

The event aims to commemorate the persevering spirit of the Chinese people and their patriotism during the war.

Titled "Unforgettable Era", the gala was featured with selections from notable Peking Operas such as "The Red Lantern" and "Shajiabang," which were dubbed with Cantonese lyrics.

The organizer behind the gala says the event will help young people remember the sacrifices of martyrs and dedicate themselves to their homeland.
