Lu Xun, respected as the founder of modern Chinese literature, was one of the greatest writers of 20th century in China.

Fan Zeng created 44 illustrations for Lu Xun's stories in 1977, and this year marks its 40th anniversary.

His illustrations for Lu Xun's stories have been listed among the classics of Chinese art history, and they have been included in Chinese textbooks for students, influencing generations of Chinese people.

The new book combines his illustrations with the original stories.
