An auction was organized on Wednesday in Turkey's most populous city of Istanbul, aiming to raise funds for orphans.
The auction has been held in the city's well-known Taksim Square as a part of the ongoing Beyoglu Antique Festival.
Up to 22 antique pieces went under the hammer at the auction, raising a total of 28,000 U.S. dollars.
The money has been donated to the "Beyoglu Municipality Social Market," a state-run charity institution, to be used to meet the needs of the orphans living across the district.
