Chinese actor Huang Bo had his wax double inducted into Madame Tussauds Beijing on Sunday before revealing that he would present his directorial debut this summer.

Huang looked a little nervous before meeting his wax doppelganger, and circled around the figure to take closer look after it was unveiled. He said he was amazed by the craftsmanship and level of detail exhibited by the Madame Tussauds artists who had measured him for several hours half a year ago.

The creative and humorous actor also struck several poses with his wax replica; first by getting down on one knee and "handing over" a movie script to the wax figure, and then by sitting on the floor and pretending to cry while the wax figure "handed" him some tissues. Huang encouraged his fans to pose imaginatively when taking photos with his wax double.

"Huang Bo is an excellent actor who has been bringing great joy to audiences," said Wang Rui, general manager of Madame Tussauds Beijing. "The induction of his wax figure into Madame Tussauds Beijing will surely bring lots of joy to this venue."

Huang also toured the rest of Madame Tussauds Beijing, visiting the likenesses of his fellow artists and idols. His own wax double was put on display starting Feb. 5.

The actor initially rose to fame after his acting debut in "Crazy Stone" by Ning Hao. Then, he starred in a series of blockbusters such as "Lost in Thailand," "Journey to the West: Conquering the Demons," "Breakup Buddies" and "Mojin: The Lost Legend." He also shined in the film "Cow," which won him best actor at the 46th Golden Horse Awards. Most recently, his role in the drama "The Conformist" won him a Golden Goblet Award for best actor at the Shanghai International Film Festival in 2017.

Huang will take another giant step in his career this year. He revealed at Madame Tussauds that his heretofore secret directorial debut will hit Chinese screens this summer. But, ever the perfectionist, the actor still hadn't settled on a title for the new film.
