Editor's note: Mid-Autumn Festival is a traditional festival in China, the topic of many legends. As well as the tale about the fairy maiden, Chang E Flying to the Moon, another tells the story of the jade rabbit which made medicine in heaven.

This legend, which can be considered an extension to Chang E Flying to the Moon, has many versions, but the most popular one is as follows:
