Channing Tatum insists his stage show "Magic Mike Live" is suitable for both men and women.
Speaking at the opening night in London Wednesday (28 NOV. 2018), Tatum, who is the director and creator of the 90-minute stage show featuring male dancers, promised that watching the show would be a "rewarding" experience.
"I have a lot of guy friends that, you know, they like women. And every single one of them loved the show, they want to come back. I think every man should come and bring their significant other and just experience it. Let your wife get a dance".
Tatum, who was also the star of the two "Magic Mike" films - which were inspired by his own experiences - said so far the London audiences have been more subdued than the Vegas ones, where the show has a residency.
"Vegas is a little different. The audience here is, I think they are so used to seeing West End shows, like plays that are up on the stage, that they don't exactly have permission to stand up and have a full party and a full experience. But we're slowly cracking that and trying to communicate that you can fully have a party at this show."
In the first hour of sales, "Magic Mike Live" sold over a million dollars worth of tickets.
