Editor's note: The Lantern Festival marks the end of the 15-day celebration of Chinese lunar New Year with the first full moon of the year. This year, it falls on Feb. 19. People eat yuanxiao, or sweet dumplings, on this day, so it is also called the Yuanxiao Festival. Nowadays, people celebrate the Lantern Festival in various ways. China.org.cn presents a collection of photos to observe this special day of celebration and togetherness.

A lantern show will be held in Beijing's Yuanmingyuan Park in the evening from 6 to 9:30 p.m. on Feb. 19, and all the tickets have already been sold out online. The show will combine other cultural activities such as dragon and lion dances. [Photo/VCG]
