An exhibition on Asian civilizations opened Monday at the National Museum of China, Beijing.

Jointly held by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the National Cultural Heritage Administration, the exhibition is part of the cultural activities of the Conference on Dialogue of Asian Civilizations, which will open on Wednesday.

Titled "The Splendor of Asia: An Exhibition of Asian Civilizations," the exhibition will showcase the dialogues, exchanges and mutual learning between Asian civilizations with both traditional displays and multimedia technologies.

The opening ceremony was attended by Huang Kunming, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee.

With over 400 cultural relics from 49 countries, the exhibition is conducive to strengthening friendships between Asian countries, facilitating people-to-people connectivity, carrying forward achievements of Asian civilizations and boosting Asia's cultural confidence, Huang said.

The exhibition will last until Aug. 11.
