A piece of Australian cattle farming history has been put up for sale in the nation's outback.

Supplejack Station, a 381,700 hectare cattle station in central Australia near the border with Western Australia (WA), has been put on the market for the first time since it was originally settled in 1964.

It comes with multiple residences including Suplejack Homestead, three stock yards, a 1,200 meter airstrip, a large solar system and battery bank and more than 19,000 head of cattle.

Geoff Warriner and Chris Holgar, directors of agribusiness for commercial real estate firm Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated (JLL), have been appointed to sell the property by unreserved auction in Alice Springs, more than 700 kilometers away, on June 14.

"Suplejack is an efficient enterprise supplying beef livestock to primarily northern export markets," Warriner told News Corp Australia on Wednesday.

Holgar said that only 130,000 hectares - or 35 percent - of the property is fenced, with the remaining 65 percent currently undeveloped.

"A tangible opportunity exists for future development resulting in expansion of the current grazing operation," he said.
