Over 100 charity shows, 16 art summer camps, as well as public speeches will be staged in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region to enrich the lives of children during the summer holiday.

The events are part of the summer art festival recently launched in Beijing and will cover five theaters scattered over five cities in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.

Shows, including western classical music, Peking Opera, Kun Opera and dances and acrobatics will be performed by multiple national-level art groups, such as the Beijing Symphony Orchestra, the National Ballet of China, the China National Acrobatic Troupe and the Jingju Theater Company of Beijing, as well as a number of renowned Chinese musicians and artists.

Organized by the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, the art festival aims to respond to the coordinated development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and to promote deepening integration of culture and tourism.

From July 5 to August 31, Beijing's Forbidden City Concert Hall, the initiator of the activity, will stage over 70 performances, 11 art summer camps and 12 lectures, and the remaining shows will be held in theaters in the cities of Hengshui, Baoding, Tianjin and Tangshan.
