Luohu hosts intangible cultural heritage week

The 2019 Luohu Intangible Cultural Heritage Week opened at Shenzhen Curio World - an antique market in Shenzhen - on Oct 11.

Masters and experts of various fields attended the opening ceremony including: Xu Dingchang, a ceramics expert; Zhu Guobin, an ink stone carving master; and Hong Yujing, a leading embroidery artist. They shared stories about their respective crafts, and demonstrated their skills.

Students and teachers from Xinxiu Primary School and Luohu Foreign Language School took part in practical lessons on embroidery and ceramics, under the supervision of the experts. They said the activities deepened their understanding of the two crafts.

The work produced by each of the artists are on display for a week following the ceremony. A light-show and gourmet festival also opened on Oct 11.
