Chinese thriller hit "Sheep Without a Shepherd" has been granted an extended theatrical run of one month until Feb. 12, according to the film's distributor.

This offered the film an opportunity to cut a share of the lucrative market during the seven-day Spring Festival holiday from Jan. 24 to 30.

The thriller has garnered 927 million yuan (about 139 million U.S. dollars) since its release on Dec. 13, 2019, the China Movie Data Information Network said Sunday.

The film depicts the story of a father trying to cover up his daughter's crime, who committed manslaughter of a police officer's son, dragging the girl's family into struggles against the police.

A new film usually has a theatrical run of one month on the Chinese mainland.
