"Fox Hunting," an original domestic film with a counterterrorism theme, is scheduled to hit mainland screens on Jan. 10.
Based on an award-winning novel of the same name, the movie depicts the story of Xiao Jian, a veteran who works as the head of the security team of a Chinese company involved in the construction of the China-Thailand Railway. Xiao rescues the kidnapped daughter of the company chairman with the help of Thai police, thus preventing an international dispute.
The movie has pocketed over 210,000 yuan (about 30,237 U.S. dollars) in presales, according to the major Chinese film database Maoyan.
