A total of 1,233 online meetings for film and TV companies at home and abroad were held to boost cooperation during the recent Shanghai film and TV festivals.

The online activity, dubbed "cloud market," was part of the 23rd Shanghai International Film Festival, which closed on Aug. 2, and the 26th Shanghai TV Festival, which closed on Friday. The cloud market was aimed at facilitating communication and transactions among film and TV companies amid the COVID-19 epidemic.

The activity attracted about 240,000 registered visits, its organizer said on Thursday.

Many foreign companies, such as Japanese movie studio and production company Shochiku, signed agreements through online meetings, while several Chinese companies made arrangements with foreign exhibitors regarding the export of their film and TV programs.

Online exhibitions were also held to present the latest films and TV programs.
