At the opening ceremony, Kang Yunshu, an undergraduate in the Department of Ceramic Art and Design, and Chen Hui, a professor in the Department of Painting, spoke on behalf of participating students and instructors respectively.

Kang noted that the Academy of Arts & Design provides an excellent platform for sharing and inspiring ideas. The disciplined vision at the international frontier and comprehensive discipline quality have laid a solid foundation for students' artistic exploration. The outbreak of the COVID-19 epidemic, while altering people's living conditions, has also given rise a change of display media. Online and offline exhibitions not only provide new perspectives and ways to examine works, but also indicate that art and technology will be more closely and diversely combined. As art designers in the new era, we will not forget our original aspiration, bear in mind the spirit of the Academy, achieve excellence through self-improvement and shape the future through innovation.

Professor Chen delivered a warm speech on behalf of instructors, saying that with a good university education students should be trained into patriots, responsible leaders, stargazers, dream catchers, explorers, knowledge seekers, and elegant people with a healthy style. He encouraged students to be self-reliant, self-improving and self-confident, and to ultimately out shine their teachers. He also hoped that they would have a spirit for teamwork, forge ahead, and be undaunted by challenges. Chen concluded his speech by saying that "the light of art will always shine for you," urging the graduates to "live their life without regret, and diligently work for the present while gazing at stars."

Professor Lu Xiaobo, dean of the Academy of Arts & Design, said in his speech that this was the first time that the Academy presented offline and online exhibitions in a combined form, as a never-ending report on graduation design achievements transcending time and space.
