Paintings from the Song Dynasty (960-1279) portray traditional court maids, finches, bright clouds, distant peaks, and cloudy mountains. Paintings during this period included nearly all genres, with landscape paintings growing more vivid, figure paintings becoming more subtle, and flower-and-bird paintings appearing more elegant and wild.
