The International Film Festival of India (IFFI) will screen 280 films from 79 countries and regions in its 53rd edition to be held in the western state of Goa from Nov. 20 to 28.
A statement released by India's Ministry of Information and Broadcasting on Monday said that a total of 25 feature films and 20 non-feature films from India will be showcased in the Indian Panorama category, while 183 films will be a part of the international programming.
France is the Spotlight country and eight films will be screened under the Country Focus package.
Spanish director Carlos Saura, who received the Golden Bear award at the Berlin International Film Festival for "Deprisa, Deprisa" in 1981, along with two Silver Bears for best director with La caza and Peppermint Frappe, a BAFTA award for Carmen and several awards at the Cannes Film Festival, among others, will be honored with the Satyajit Ray Lifetime Achievement Award.
The film festival will be virtually accessible too.
