The International Olympic Committee's executive board is meeting this week in Lausanne, Switzerland and members will hear presentations from the two candidate cities for the 2022 Winter Olympics -- Beijing and Almaty, Kazakhstan.

This is the last chance for the pair to speak to the IOC in a formal setting, before the body chooses a host for the Winter Games at the end of next month.

Sixteen out of the 101 strong members, who hold the rights to vote in the election during the 128th IOC Session in Kuala Lumpur on July 31, will be absent.

Beijing and Almaty have the opportunity to show their bidding projects in detail to the IOC members at the Olympic Museum on Tuesday, and then they will each take turns to display models, videos and answer any questions.
