Hong Kong stocks open 4.61% lower

Hong Kong stocks plunged 923.03 points, or 4.61 percent, to open at 19,091.40 on Thursday, tracking losses in the global markets.

Bank of China slipped 4.6 percent to 2.72 HK dollars (about 0. 35 U.S. dollars), while ICBC retreated 7.7 percent to 4.79 HK dollars.

China Construction Bank was down 4.9 percent to 5.43 HK dollars, and Agricultural Bank of China fell 5.2 percent to 3.48 HK dollars.
