Chinese shares end higher at the midday Tuesday, boosted by global stocks on speculation that European governments will strive to deal with the debt crisis.

The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index gained 0.55 percent to end the morning session at 2,396.04 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index rose 0.50 percent to close at 9,933.97 points.
