Chinese stocks lower at midday Thursday

Chinese stocks closed lower in the morning session on Thursday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.58 percent to end at 2,271.6.

The Shenzhen Component Index dropped 0.39 percent to end the morning session at 9,493.76.
