"Seven years ago, when I came here to create this gathering – the first CHINICT, I had the ambition to merge the world with China, so that the world could better understand the incredible technological revolution taking place in China right now and the potential it carries," Franck Nazikian, founder and CEO of CHINICT said.
Another major aspect of the conference is the presenting of the CHINICT awards to companies that have achieved outstanding results. This year's awards, which include the Hackathon, Star, Rising Star and Protégé Awards, went to top companies such as AIGO, Qihoo/360.cn and PPTV.
When asked what merits the CHINICT awards are based on, Nazikian explained: "They're based on two things. First, on what the companies have been able to achieve so far. And the second thing is the promise; the promise they hold for the future."
Dozens of business leaders and CEOs from Chinese as well as international top companies participated in the conference and shared their experiences and latest products. Guests included Feng Jun, Founder & CEO of Beijing Huaqi Information Digital Technology Co Ltd; Eduardo Saverin, Co-founder of Facebook; Alec Saunders, Vice President of Developer Relations of Blackberry and Herman Yu, CFO of Sina.
"CHINICT provides an excellent platform for entrepreneurs and inventors to exchange their thought and views on the latest technologies," Chu Xiangyin, Deputy Chairman of CCPIT Beijing Sub-council said, "A lot of entrepreneurs have taken away great lessons from their experiences and have become stronger and more powerful through them. Many of them have already become shining stars in their industries or will in the future develop into such."
The 8th edition of CHINICT is supported by key players including Blackberry, Taobao, Pearson, Nokia, QQ-Tencent, Aigo, Sina, Baidu, Netease and Sequoia Capital.
