China plans to build dedicated airfields for corporate jets around major cities like Shanghai and Beijing to support the development of the corporate aviation sector, the nation's aviation chief said.
The Civil Aviation Administration of China is drafting related policies for the sector, Li Jiaxiang, head of the administration, said at an industry exhibition in Beijing yesterday.
Corporate aviation in China has witnessed strong growth in recent years on the back of a rapid boom in executive jet travel. Last year, the number of business jets in China increased 28 percent, faster than that of passenger or cargo planes, Li said.
