Chinese and Mongolian delegates inked a deal on Tuesday to further promote bilateral collaboration in the agricultural sector.

Under the agreement, signed after a meeting of the China-Mongolia Working Group on Agriculture Cooperation, the two neighbors will push forward their South-South cooperation under the framework of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).

China will continue to provide technical assistance to help enhance Mongolia's agricultural production and will help Mongolia provide training and set up its organic product standards and certification systems.

Meanwhile, the two sides also agreed to boost cooperation in food safety and agricultural commodity trade negotiations.

China and Mongolia have seen rapid development in agricultural cooperation in recent years. China has provided Mongolia with soft loans for the purchase of farm machinery, and has had experts and technicians working in Mongolia since 2010 to help promote Mongolia's national food security program.
