Taiwan's share prices closed higher on Monday with the weighted index rising 59.9 points, or 0. 76 percent, to close at 7,856.12, according to news reaching here from Taipei.

The local bourse fluctuated between 7,854.47 and 7,877.05 during the day's trading. Turnover totaled 59.08 billion new Taiwan dollars (about 1.98 billion U.S. dollars) during the trading session.
