Huawei's Chinese heritage subjects itself to discrimination and slander, said William Plummer, Vice President of External Affairs at Huawei Technologies.

"Someone says they got some proof of some sort of threat? Okay," William Plummer said in the statement. "Then put up. Or shut up."

Earlier on Thursday, former CIA head Michael Hayden told The Australian Financial Review that he believes Huawei supplies information to the Chinese government. Although he isn't certain of how much detail the company shares, he believes that it at least involves some foreign communication systems.

The United States have expressed concerns that Huawei could threaten its national security, and have forced the Chinese-based company to back away from supplying the US with networking equipment. The United Kingdom has also been investigating Huawei over the same concerns. "This is tired nonsense we've been hearing for years," William Plummer said, "This is politically-inspired and racist corporate defamation, nothing more."

Although the governments of the United States and the United Kingdom are yet to identify a definite link between Huawei and Chinese hackers, cyber security concerns are growing.
