A delegation of the Guangdong-Macao Traditional Chinese Medicine Technology Industrial Park Development Co., Ltd paid a visit to Mozambique from April 20 to 27at the invitation of the Mozambican Ministry of Health.

During the visit, the delegation also visited a number of local departments, enterprises, trade associations and academic institutions. This has provided a platform for the industrial park's international exchanges and cooperation center to work closely with Africa's Portuguese-speaking countries on the exchange and cooperation of TCM, and the international registration and foreign trade of TCM products

In addition, the two sides held discussions on the cooperation space and potential of traditional medicine.

"Based on the industrial park's resource superiority for traditional Chinese medicine professional training and technical exchanges, we hope to cooperate with Mozambique through personnel training, business healthcare exchanges and medical expert resource sharing. In this way, we expect to further promote the development of traditional medicine in Mozambique," stressed Xie Yi, deputy chief executive officer of the Guangdong-Macao Traditional Chinese Medicine Technology Industrial Park Development Co., Ltd.

"Traditional medicine in Mozambique is still in its start-up stage. Seeing Chinese medical staff working in Mozambique, more local people begin to understand and like traditional Chinese medical technology like acupuncture. We hope to learn more about China's traditional medical theory and experience. Moreover, we wish to win China's support in traditional medicine legislation, professional training, technical support, research & development and industrialization," noted Nazira Abdula, the Mozambican Minister of Health.
