Experts and engineers spoke highly of innovation in China at an annual forum held in Guangzhou on Tuesday.
The International Engineers Forum invited professional engineers from Germany, America, Ukraine and Israel, to discuss the topic of Craftsmanship Spirit and Innovation.
"Many Germans hold an opinion that the answer to how high-speed train will develop in the future is in China instead of Germany," said Ulrich Sendler, an expert in Industries 4.0.
Antoine Kahn, professor from University of Princeton, regarded organic electronics in China a promising field. He said the number of published scientific papers from Chinese scholars increased very rapidly. The percentage China made up was 26.8% in 2013, 27.4% in 2014 and 35.8% in 2015. Kahn also believes that China will be an important branch in organic electronics.
The host city of Guangzhou is ready to push harder for innovation. The city will establish an association of professional engineers and set up a project with the theme of "key techniques of future industries,"according to the director of Guangzhou Science, Technology and Innovation Commission.
The two measures aim to gather engineering talents and promote Guangzhou to be a global innovation hub.
Ma Zhengyong proposed that talents should always be the priority in the innovation path. "Guangzhou will spare no efforts to provide fertilizing soil to cultivate talents."Ma said.
Yossi Vardi, the co-founder of DLD Tel Aviv Innovation Festival, shared an Israeli entrepreneurs'story at the meeting. "The key to Israel’s innovation is the ambition and spirit of adventure from Israeli youngsters.”
Guangzhou announced at the forum that within five years, the city would support 3,500 leading talents with a 3.5 billion Yuan (about $508 million) special financial budget. The policy aims to encourage innovation in information technology, biology, health care, energy saving and other hi-tech industries.
