China's industrial profits up 23.3 pct in first 10 months

China's major industrial firms saw stronger profit growth in thefirst ten months of this year, the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) said Monday.

The companies reported a 23.3 percent year-on-year profit increase in the ten-month period, up from 22.8 percent in the first three quarters, the NBS said in astatement.

In October alone, profits of majori ndustrial firms rose 25.1 percent year on year, it said.
