Six C919 planes will conduct test flights in Shaanxi and Shandong provinces this year, reports Science and Technology Daily.

China's first domestically-produced large passenger aircraft will undergo over 1,000 tests in order to obtain an airworthiness certificate from China's Civil Aviation Administration.

It will also have to be approved by the Federal Aviation Administration in the United States and the European Aviation Safety Agency if it is to tap the global market.

C919 has received orders for 815 planes from 28 clients from both home and abroad since 2010.

It successfully completed its maiden flight in May 2017.

With a standard range of 4,075 kilometers, the C919 jet is comparable to the updated Airbus 320 and Boeing's new generation 737.
