Chinese mobile firm, OPPO Mobile on Tuesday entered into a partnership with Lipa Later, a Kenyan credit offering company to allow customers to purchase OPPO devices by installment as it aims to increase sales and set foot in the local market.

Jesse Wu, Brand Manager of OPPO Kenya said that the payment plan will allow customers to enjoy a 3.5 percent interest rate on the purchase of OPPO F7, a drop from the initial 4 percent.

"The new arrangement will have a great impact on OPPO F7 and all OPPO devices sales that currently are performing well in the market because of the quality and uniqueness of the device," Wu said in a statement released in Nairobi.

"Since we launched OPPO F7 in May this year, there has been increased uptake of the device...we believe through this credit payment option, more customers will have an opportunity to access this device thus boosting our revenue in sales," he added.

OPPO noted that the partnership will increase sales of its products and accelerate smartphone mobile penetration into the country as Kenya is a strategic conduit in the Eastern African market.
