Hellenic – Chinese Peloponnese Smart Park makes debut in 2018 Smart China Expo

The Greek Region of Peloponnese participated in the 2018 Smart China Expo last week on Wednesday. Representative speaker detailed the latest progress of the Hellenic – Chinese Peloponnese Smart Park (HCPSP) during the speech at 2018 Mayors' Roundtable for International Sister Cities (provinces/regions) of Chongqing. As many as 23 provinces, regions and cities from 16 countries around the world participated in the event.

The Governor Petros Tatoulis urges dynamic links between the West and East via regional exchanges and cooperation. Liu Xia presented Tatoulis' invitation of HCPSP to Chongqing Municipality and other attendees to the event. Enterprises are welcomed to joining the HCPSP's development in the short coming future, Liu added.

Peloponnese rests at the south of Balkan Peninsula, the southeast gateway of Europe, reliable hospitality to the Asian civilization prior to the classic period of ancient Greece. It was the cross-road for pan-Asia-Europe exchanges of cosmopolitan culture since China's Tang Dynasty. The Peloponnesian heritage still enriches modern employment of trade, culture and tourism, linked with advanced transportation network in the EU.

Since Tatoulis' first incumbent in 2011, the Region has maintained its concept with economic accomplishment to the Republic, under his regional leadership. Now, it is entering a new era by strategies of smart energy, agriculture, ecosystem, culture, tourism as well as local family cares. These strategic moves are progressing in line with supports from the Greek Presidential House, Prime Minister and other Ministers.

HCPSP includes two initial units, an integrated and logistic port area connected with a business park in the Region's capital city of Tripoli.

Liu described 2018 Smart China Expo as the national exhibition initiated by the Central Committee of the Communist Party, State Council, and co-organized by Ministry of Science and Technology,Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Chinese Academy of Engineering, China Association for Science and Technology and Chongqing Municipality.
