Tickets for high-speed trains linking Chinese mainland and Hong Kong go on sale on Monday via online platforms, telephone hotline and railway stations, Chinanews.com reported.

With a total length of 141 kilometers, the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Express railway includes 115 kilometers in mainland and 26 kilometers in Hong Kong. The mainland section from Guangzhou South to Shenzhen North and Futian opened to traffic at the end of 2011 and 2015, respectively.

The work on Hong Kong section began in 2010 and was constructed by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. The line will officially open on Sept 23, with 95 trains running on it.

Tickets are available through 12306.cn platform or its app, but only for users with mainland phone numbers.

For buyers from Hong Kong, they will be allowed to purchase up to eight tickets per person with valid original ID, including home return permits and passports. In addition, they will only be able to book seats a maximum of 10 days ahead.

The ticket price for second class of the less than nine hours' journey from Hong Kong to Beijing is 1,077 yuan ($156.97).

The whole rail line will connect to mainland's rail network and serve over 40 destinations directly.

According to China Railway Corporation, during the peak days, around 127 return trains will operate daily between mainland and Hong Kong, among which 114 return trains will run between the West Kowloon and Futian.
