The third China-Africa Investment Forum (CAIF) will be held from Dec. 2 to 8 in Morocco aimed at boosting production capacity cooperation between China and Africa in infrastructure, manufacturing, health care and other sectors.
Around 100 entrepreneurs are expected to take part. After the forum section, they will visit special economic zones, infrastructure programs and local companies in Casablanca, Tangier and Rabat to identify market and industrial differences between China and Africa, thus paving the way for win-win cooperation by enhancing resource complementarity.
Yang Baohua, chairman of the board of the China-Africa Development Fund, Moulay Elalamy, Moroccan minister of Industry and Othman Benjelloun, CEO of Moroccan BMCE Bank will head the guest list for the forum.
This year marks the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Morocco. Chinese Ambassador Li Li said in an interview with Xinhua News Agency last month that building on previous progress, bilateral ties will enter a new phase.
The two countries will develop new models for the partnership among China, Morocco and other African countries, as well as advance practical cooperation under the framework of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, the envoy added.
According to the Moroccan Investment Development Agency, China is Morocco's third largest trading partner, with two-way trade totaling US$3.83 billion in 2017.
The forum is organized by the Sino-International Entrepreneurs Federation, a Beijing-based global non-profit organization committed to building extraordinary partnerships between Chinese business leaders and their counterparts from around the world.
