More than 9,300 vehicles under the Citroen and Peugeot brands will be recalled in China starting on Jan. 25, 2019 due to brake problems, according to China's market regulator.

Filed by the Dongfeng Peugeot Citroen Automobile Company, the recall involves a total of 9,305 imported Citroen C4 Aircross and Peugeot 4008 models manufactured between 2012 and 2015, the State Administration of Market Regulation said in a statement.

The affected vehicles may have defective braking systems that can lead to a decline in braking power and in serious cases cause the sliding of parked cars.

The company will replace the defective parts free of charge, the statement said.
