China's civil aviation regulator has approved 10 international flight routes departing from newly built Beijing Daxing International Airport.

The Civil Aviation Administration of China said on Wednesday that it approved 32 international routes for airlines that applied between Feb. 26 and March 4 this year, including 10 that will depart from the new Beijing airport.

Feng Zhenglin, director of the administration, said construction of the airport's main terminal is finished, with interior decoration and installation and testing of electromechanical equipment underway.

The destinations include Cairo, Moscow and several cities in South Korea.

Feng said all work will be completed by June 30 and the airport will be put into operation before Sept. 30.

At the junction of Beijing's Daxing District and Langfang City in Hebei, the new airport is expected to handle 45 million passengers annually by 2021 and 72 million by 2025.
