A conference to promote investment in Xiamen was held recently in Beijing.

A conference to promote investment in Xiamen was held recently in Beijing. Sponsored by the Xiamen Enterprise Chamber of Commerce in Beijing, the conference welcomed more than 500 representatives from companies listed in the Fortune Global 500, state-owned enterprises in Beijing, and other well-known enterprises.

Addressing the conference, Hu Changsheng, secretary of the CPC Xiamen Municipal Committee, said that he hopes more enterprises will choose Xiamen as a destination for investment, and that Xiamen will speed up the pace of building itself into a modern international city with both high development quality and good external appearance. He added that Xiamen will make every effort to create a first-class business environment, and provide the best services for enterprises that invest and develop in the coastal city.

Huang Heming, director of the Xiamen Municipal Bureau of Commerce, spoke on the investment environment of Xiamen and introduced a few key projects. The six administrative regions of Xiamen, along with the city's free trade commission, the Torch High-tech Zone, the Maluan Bay District, and the East Coast District have jointly set up negotiation zones.

Participants at the conference had shown cooperation intentions for nearly 100 projects involving agriculture, environmental protection, culture, film and television, and education.
