Celebrating the 38th anniversary of the founding of his company on July 10, Cui Qiang, general manager of Dazhong Electronics, revealed how child protection had become a corporate social responsibility (CSR) priority for the Beijing-based appliance retailer.

He said the company was closely collaborating with the Youth Security Center (YSC) in Beijing to provide technical and product support, as well as service for child protection.

This collaboration also includes courses in communication skills and security training for children and adolescents to raise their awareness about potential bullying and harassment.

Currently, the company's branch near the Central Radio and Television Tower in Beijing's Haidian District has been officially designated as the "Center for Youth Safety Education."

In future, centers for child protection would be established in all the company's 54 branches in the Jingjinji Metropolitan Region (Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei province).

"Any teenager, especially girls, will soon be able to come to our store and ask for help if they encounter difficulties, get lost, feel discomfort or are involved in incidents that threatens personal safety. Our front desk will provide professional aid as soon as possible," Cui said.

In addition, the collaboration between Dazhong Electronics and YSC will focus on the recruitment and training of volunteers to improve security on campus.

Each school covered by the collaboration will be equipped with 100 parent volunteers to promote regional security and public welfare, which is also seen as a contribution to Beijing's development.

In May, YSC organized a public lecture with Dazhong Electronics concerning common safety hazards, including immediate first aid treatment for sports injuries, elevator and fire safety notes, just to name a few.
